trenchcoats & leather jackets

I think half the reason Dean’s so mad at Cas is less about what Cas did to the world and more about what Cas did to Dean. I mean he didn’t listen to Dean, and then because of that Dean lost him. But Dean still loves Cas.. and here are three reasons why, because I’m bored and because I can:

1. Dean kept the trenchcoat with him always. They changed cars so many times I lost count, but he still kept that trenchcoat. If he’d didn’t love Cas he wouldn’t have kept it with him. He would’ve just left it with the Impala or something. But no, he kept it with him and every time he moved it from one car to another he would’ve done it with that speck of hope that maybe, just maybe, this would be the time that Cas would come home.
2. Dean hasn’t said sorry, and I reckon that just proves that he can’t admit to himself that he has anything to apologize for because admitting that would mean admitting to himself that it’s his fault Cas is the way he is, and that would crush Dean because nothing hurts him more than hurting the people he loves.
3. That bit where Dean was saying the angels don’t have the equipment to care, and when they try it breaks them. The broken look on Dean’s face after he said that made me want to cry. He feels so guilty already.

There’s those reasons, and you know, every freaking time they look at each other their eyes are pretty much screaming “I love you”. But hey, mostly those reasons.

Their relationship is still there, but they both need to fix each other first.. both need to apologize and accept each others apologies, for starters.
